Born in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1973, Jason Cordero pursued a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the University of South Australia, graduating in 1995. His artistic practice is grounded in traditional painting and drawing techniques, with an increasing incorporation of digital media.
Cordero's work has been recognised with numerous awards, including the Heysen Prize in 2006 and the John Leslie Art Prize in 2010. He has been a finalist in several prestigious art prizes, such as the Glover Prize and the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize.
His paintings are held in esteemed public and private collections, including Artbank, the Parliament House Art Collection, and the Gippsland Art Gallery.
