Much has been said and written about the nature of Jay and Stephen's collaborative partnership - because it is fascinating. Looking at these works, it is hard to distinguish between the hand of one and the eye of the other. It is if they have become one; grafted together, if you like. Stephen describes this working relationship as intuitive, felt and increasingly without the need for much dialogue or conversation. Jay talks of the alternating roles they each play as both worker and observer. Their relationship has an organic quality to it; through long hours spent together in their Fremantle studio a symbiosis has developed between them, from which these flowers are born.
