Justin Corby Tjungurrayi is a contemporary Aboriginal artist of Luritja heritage, renowned for his distinctive interpretations of traditional Anangu (Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara) narratives. Born in 1982 in Kintore, located on the border of the Northern Territory and Western Australia, he is the son of esteemed Papunya artist Lindsay Corby Tjapaltjarri. Justin's artistic practice is deeply influenced by his father's storytelling, particularly the Kanpi Tjukurrpa (Emu Dreaming), which he conveys through bold geometric compositions and a vibrant palette.
Now based in Haasts Bluff, approximately 230 km west of Alice Springs, Justin paints with Ikuntji Artists and contributes to the community as an assistant teacher at the local school. His works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions across Australia, including a notable solo exhibition at Metro 5 Gallery in Melbourne in 2008.
